Administration:


Principal—Mrs. Rose Witmer

I have been blessed to be the principal of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School for seven years having started in August of 2002.  I also taught at OLMC for 12 years from 1978-1990.  How special is that!  I also taught at Immaculate Conception School in Willoughby for seven years.  I earned my Masters in Education Administration for Elementary Grades in 1997.  I became Principal of Corpus Christi School located in Cleveland for five years. 
As Principal of OLMC, I am inspired daily by our students working together, in their families, and with their teachers to achieve academic excellence and to lead lives of faith.
 

Administrative Assistant—Rene Iacobucci

I started out as a parent at OLMC in 1978 when my first child started school here.  I volunteered on many PTU committees and as Athletic Director and Cheerleading Coach.  My husband and I ran the Confirmation Program for 2 years.  I am also a Eucharistic Minister.  I feel it is important to be involved in your child's school.  I started in the office in 1987 and have loved every minute.  I am so blessed to come to work each day where I can worship God and be uplifted by the innocence and love of the children.
 

Secretary/After Care Director—Lisa Greger

I have enjoyed doing this job for the last 15 plus years.  I have also been the school Secretary for the last 3 years.  I am an alumni and parent of OLMC and I am proud to represent the best location in the nation for a nurturing Catholic environment for our children and the children of the future.

 

Faculty:

8th Grade Teacher—Mrs. Kasbek

I am the middle school Social Studies teacher and eighth grade Confirmation instructor.  I am a product of Catholic education from grade school through college, graduating from John Carroll University in 1976.  I have taught for twenty-one years, all in Catholic elementary schools, at the first, second, fourth, and middle school levels.

 

8th Grade Teacher—Mr. Daugherty

A 1989 graduate of The Ohio State University in Elementary Education and a 1994 graduate of Cleveland State University's graduate program in Educational Administration, I began my teaching career in the Cleveland Public Schools. I taught first grade and Jr. High mathematics and began my own business. In 1995 I left the field of teaching to tend to the business and returned to teaching here at OLMC in the year 2000. During my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking and fishing.

 

7th Grade Teacher—Mrs. Smith

I graduated Magna cum laude from Ursuline College in 1995.  I have been teaching at OLMC for 12 of those years.  I developed the Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum and Program.  I received the following awards:  Immaculate Conception Woman of the Year, Lake County Right to Life Woman of the Year, Corpus Christi Teacher of the Year - 2002.

 

6th Grade Teacher—Mrs. Lewis

My name is Mrs. Lewis.  Since I was a child in Catholic school, I have always desired to shape the minds of today's youth as a teacher.  Throughout my years here at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, this dream has come true. I have had the pleasure of teaching Grades 3 and 4, and I am currently the Sixth Grade teacher who also teaches the subject of English to Grades 6, 7, and 8. 

 

5th Grade Teacher—Mrs. Sobkowich

I have 16 years of personal Catholic Education.  I have a B.A. from Medaille College and Master’s Degree from Buffalo State University.  I have taught 2nd grade in NY, and 4th, 5th, & Junior High here at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.  I have also taught Bryant & Stratton and Lakeland Community College.


4th Grade Teacher—Mr. Grassi
For the last six years I have been a teacher at OLMC.  I have taught for 12 years.  I graduated from John Carroll University with a BA in Psychology and at Cleveland State University I studied elementary education.  Currently, I am pursuing my Master's Degree from Walden University in Intermediate Elementary Education with a focus in mathematics.  I am active in community; currently serving as the President on Board of Ravenwood Mental Health Facility.  My wife and I have been married thirty-one years and reside in Russell, Ohio with our dog Rocky.  We have three adult children who all reside in the Cleveland area.  I enjoy exercising, yoga, golf and cooking. 

3rd Grade Teacher—Mrs. Troha
I have been teaching at OLMC for 21 years.  I began my teaching career teaching 5th grade and 2nd grade.  After spending 10 years home with my children, I returned to teaching. I have spent the last 12 years in the 3rd grade. 

2nd Grade Teacher—Mrs. Zulandt
I have been teaching second grade at Mt. Carmel for 11 years. I have had the opportunity to teach all grade levels, but second grade is my favorite.  I received by B.A. from Westminster College in French and German and my Master's from John Carroll University in reading.  I am presently working on my Administrator degree.

1st Grade Teacher—Miss Mularo
I've been teaching for 23 years, 20 years in 1st grade. This is my 13th year teaching at      Mt.Carmel.  I have a MA in Reading, and a BS in Business Administration.  After school I work at my family's store- Brandt's Candies.  In my spare time I love reading, cooking, and spending time with my family and friends.

Kindergarten Teacher—Miss Micco
I attended catholic school from K through college.  I have a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from John Carroll University with a Reading Endorsement.  I am currently working on my Masters in Special Education at Notre Dame College of Ohio.  I have been teaching at OLMC for 3 years.

Kindergarten Teacher—Mrs. Boehmer
I currently have a Masters of Education degree from John Carroll University. I am a parishoner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and take pride in volunteering as a core team member for Life Teen and as a witness speaker at Pre-Cana. I love spending time reading and playing with my two year old son and am overjoyed with the upcoming birth of my second child in March! I have been teaching at OLMC for 2 years.

Pre-school Teacher—Mrs. Suman
I have a degree in Early Childhood education.  I've been teaching at Mount Carmel for 14 years. I have a structured program and the curriculum is based on developmentally appropriate practices.

Physical Education Teacher—Mr. Dubsky
I am excited to be a full time staff member this year because I get to teach all of the students in the school.  The main reasons why I like being a Phys Ed. teacher is that I get to teach every student, every single week of school.  Outside of school I also work as a strength and conditioning coach at a gym called Speed Strength Systems, where I get to train professionals and novices for all sports. 

Nurse—Mrs. Palumbo
I have been a licensed nurse in the state of Ohio since 1991. I have worked in the field of Pediatrics for more than half of my nursing career. I presently work full time @ OLMC and in my time off @ Kidsfirst pediatric office.

Gifted Teacher—Mrs. Kovach
I have a Masters in Gifted Education and have taught gifted classes in both public and private schools for sixteen years.  I have designed and implemented gifted units such as Robotics, the Physics of Amusement Parks, and Cruising Down the Nile, and have been a presenter at Cleveland State University workshops.
